Barry Coppinger the Police and Crime Commissioner is hoping to introduce a new scheme to help a select number of prolific, dependent addicts who have unfortunately not benefited from other treatment options. The aim is to break the current cycle some individuals are trapped in, in order to help them into recovery. Currently Middlesbrough has the tenth highest number of drug related deaths in the country.
